surviving thalia was formed in the summer of two thousand and four and was unleashed at the wlrs festival located at waterfront park. the members of surviving thalia are inspired by a wide variety of influences and sounds. the result, a blend of old school hardcore, progressive, south american rythm, jazz, and mathematical metal. their high energy show is not quite like any other heavy act in the louisville area. the political overtones in the lyrics can be compared to the bands of old: mc5, rage against the machine, etc... with their origins rooted deep in rock and kentucky southern style hardcore, the members of surviving thalia are growing into new musical territory with every song and show.
